I started this slack group for salespeople after hundreds of people found success using this guide to break into sales.

Sales Jitsu Core Tenants

I. The best sellers are martial artists - authentically aligned in identity to their art - using competition as a barometer for their standing along their never-ending journey of “more”. They accept failure as a necessary part of a healthy learning journey, and thus free themselves from the stress of perfection

II. Performers are not the greatest sellers - as they face the burden of faking authenticity and perfection. These people struggle to find balance oftentimes, and it’s because they’ve been told they can’t succeed maximally being who they are today, which isn’t true.

III. Sales jitsu practitioners are tech powered sellers - we value IQ // EQ // TQ - and apply many TPS learnings to their application and expression of sales

IV. What’s best is only what’s best for any given person, in any given company, selling to any given market, at any given period… everything is dynamic

V. To find what’s best for you, you must be willing to experiment with pattern interrupts, unconventional methodologies, and intentionally challenge your comfort zone

VI. Long term success relies on understanding adaptations - what works wanes, and what will work is tbd… one must have widespread reach of signal and learn quickly while micro adapting to market feedback. We stay ahead of the curve. We create the curve.

VII. We are elite, not elitist operators akin to a navy seal team more than a large physical headcount of force. We are equipped, savvy, and strategic as much as experienced and able to grit through tough shit.

VIII. Sales Jitsu is about lineage. I made this community because it’s everything I didn’t have as a young up and coming sales dev rep kicking off their career. We value peer coaching, critical feedback, radical candor and openness. Students today are the leaders of tomorrow.

IV. I realized it’s a mistake to rely on internal systems and networks to create sales success. I also realized that not all people will succeed the same way that others do, and that very few of anyone is really sure what makes what they work…. Work. This ties back into tenant V.

V. Attribution of impact isn’t easy - luckily martial artists obsess with the infinite applications and combinations of moves that they wield - and train them exploitively, expressively and passionately. We don't know what will work when necessarily - so we train all aspects as if they may be the next most important one.
